How to Manage Partial Payments in Zoho Books

How to Manage Partial Payments in Zoho Books

Sometimes a customer may not pay the full invoice amount at once. For example, if the invoice amount is ₹10,00,000 and the customer pays only ₹5,00,000, Zoho Books can easily track the paid and remaining amounts.

How Does It Work?

Create an invoice for the complete amount of ₹10,00,000. When the customer pays ₹5,00,000, record the payment against the invoice.

Zoho Books will automatically show:

Invoice Amount: ₹10,00,000
Paid Amount: ₹5,00,000
Balance Due: ₹5,00,000

When the customer pays the remaining ₹5,00,000, record the second payment against the same invoice. The invoice will then be marked as Paid.

Benefits

  • Track partial payments easily

  • Clearly see outstanding balances

  • Avoid duplicate invoices

  • Maintain accurate customer payment records

  • Easily monitor pending payments

  • Generate accurate financial reports

Conclusion

With Zoho Books, businesses can manage partial and full customer payments efficiently. Instead of creating separate invoices for every payment, you can maintain one invoice and track multiple payments against it, giving you a clear view of your outstanding amount.
